3/3/2023 FINANCE COMMITTEE BUDGET NOTICE: Town and School Administrators will continue to work diligently over the next several weeks to balance the FY2024 budget. Per the update given at the last Budget Subcommittee Meeting on February 16th, the budget gap has been reduced to $1.8 million and is the goal to be balanced by our next Budget Subcommittee for March 22nd. A Tri-Board Meeting with the Select Board, School Committee, and Finance Committee will then follow on March 29th to review what we hope to be the final budget before we have a Select Board Public Hearing on the FY2024 Budget Recommendation on May 3rd. The March 29th Tri-Board Meeting will be broadcast live on Mansfield Cable and interested residents can attend in-person at Town Hall.
The Budget Subcommittee has asked for three (3) follow-up actions:
- For the Town and School Administration Officials to find solutions to get a balanced budget that maintains services.
- For the Town to Provide an update on State Aid regarding official Chapter 70 and State aid, which were anticipated for 3/1.
- For the Finance Committee to provide an analysis of the Trash, Recycling and Mansfield Green programs.
- Please note that while the Finance Committee will review the revenue and expenses of the Trash, Recycling, and the Mansfield Green programs over the coming months, there will not be any fee recommendations for FY2024.
