Proposed Parking Regulations

The Town has recently completed a parking study of Downtown Mansfield with our parking consultant Nelson Nygaard. The Select Board has held several public meetings to discuss the topic, but before adopting the new parking regulations they would like to notify all businesses and residents who may be impacted by these changes.  

The following outlines the changes, refer to first link for the map as referenced below: 

  • The areas with purple lines will change from 2-hour to 4-hour parking in the Downtown.
  • The public parking areas shaded in dark blue (214 Rumford Lot, Old Colony Way Lot -from the Verizon building down to Court Street, North Main Street Parking Lot at 84 North Main Street adjacent to Bluestone Bank, North Main Street adjacent to One Mansfield, Building #2 and Town Hall Parking Lot along Park Row) will change from 2-hour parking to 4-hour parking from 8AM-6PM and then be open from 6PM-8AM without restriction.
  • The resident commuter parking lots are depicted in gold with restricted parking from 6AM-6PM and then be open from 6PM-6AM without restriction.
  • The streets depicted with dark blue lines will remain 2-hour parking but will additionally allow a limited amount of permitted downtown business employees to park on those streets if needed.
