The Southern Regional Planning and Economic Development District (SRPEDD) is a regional planning agency serving 27 cities and towns in Southeastern Massachusetts. SRPEDD provides assistance to these communities by undertaking studies, making recommendations and advising in the areas if physical, social and economic development.
SRPEDD was created under Massachusetts State Law and are governed by a Commission of local officials and citizens representing the area’s mayors, selectmen, planning and at-large members. Our region is a mix of urban, suburban, and rural landscapes with a population of over 600,000 in 808 square miles. The Taunton River Basin and Buzzards Bay are the dominant natural features of the region.
