When should you consult the Commission?

If you believe you are within 100 feet of a wetland or 200 feet of any river, stream, creek or vernal pool, or just want to make sure (when in doubt, our Conservation Agent will be happy to consult with you and answer your questions) or:

1. When you plan to do any landscaping, dig a hole, or fill a hole.
2. When you plan to cut a bush or tree, plant a bush or tree or change the vegetation surrounding your home in any way.
3. When you plan to put an addition on your house, add a pool or side buildings.
4. When you plan to put in a foundation
5. When you plan to pave what is now a gravel driveway.
6. When you plan to install a new driveway.
7. When you plan to install or repair a septic system.
8. When you plan to alter a stream or stream bed.
9. When you plan to do anything about that nasty puddle of water in your yard.
10. When you plan to move a wall or install one
11. Before you have a pool installed
12. Before you buy a house
13. Before you build a house
14. Before you buy a commercial or industrial building
15. Before you change the footprint of an existing commercial or industrial building
16. Before you build a commercial or industrial building
17. Before you make changes at the airport that involves runways relocation, vegetation removal, and/or changes to the existing buildings
18. Before there are any changes to the CSX line which runs right over a perennial stream
19. Before there are any changes to utility lines
20. Before there are any changes to the highways, public roadways, private drives
